“Lieder des Herbster” World Premiere – November 8th- Neimënster, Luxembourg


The festival “Silent Art” was initiated in 2014 by Neumünster, Lucilin and cantoLX, and invites the audience to look at art as a reflection on a constantly in motion society. The program combines ancient and modern music, poetry and philosophy.

Last year, the poet and philosopher Bernard Noël and the composer Marcel Reuter, have marked the orientation of the festival. For this second edition, the poet Nico Helminger will accompany the concerts, and the ensemble KMVL (Kammermuseksveräin Lëtzebuerg)  is invited to  reach Lucilin and cantoLX.


3 concerts:

• 14.30 to 15.30 – Church of St. John reason cantoLX – Requiem and motets by Cristóbal de Morales (1500-1553 c.) – Missa Syllabica, Annum per annum, Domine Da pacem Arvo Pärt (1935)

• 16h-18h – Krieps rooms: KMVL and Mariette Lentz – 6 songs of autumn: Kerger Camille (1957) (world premiere) – Quatuor pour le fin du temps by Olivier Messiaen (1908 to 1992)

• 19h-20: 30 – Cloister Lucien Wercollier: United Instruments of Lucilin Crippled Symmetry by Morton Feldman (1983) with André Pons-Valdes; Violin, Sophie Deshayes; Flute, Marcel Reuter; Piano,  Guy Frisch (percussion)

  • 22nd of october:  “Herbstlieder” for soprano and 5 instruments.  Philharmonie Luxembourg. Mariette Lentz and “Kammermusekveräin Lëtzebuerg”
  • 19th of novembre: “Aller-Retour”, 9 songs for soprano and piano(Stephany Ortega und Léna Kollmeier). Philharmonie Luxembourg. CD release (EtceteraRecords)
